For children with Dravet syndrome, abnormal brain MRI findings may be more common than previously reported, a new study suggests.
“Traditionally, there has been strong agreement that brain MRIs of patients with Dravet syndrome are initially normal, and only a minority of patients develop cortical atrophy or hippocampal sclerosis over time,” noted Dr Megan Garcia-Curran at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in Illinois, USA.
