Microstructural white matter disruption in Fabry disease assessed by diffusion tension imaging

  • Diffusion tension imaging (DTI) measures are correlated with cognition and disease severity in Fabry disease and may be useful biomarkers.

Why this matters

While DTI measures have shown promise as a potential biomarker of disease severity and progression in cerebral small vessel disease, it is not known whether they correlate with cognitive function or disease severity in Fabry disease; biomarkers of disease severity and progression will aid in improving treatment outcomes.
